Triple The Toys From Whitehouse Leisure

As 2012 comes to close and thoughts turn to the excitement of the New Year, Whitehouse Leisure has announced an enterprising approach for EAG International Expo taking place at ExCel London, January 22-24th, revealing it will be providing visitors a trio of stands showcasing the very best in licensed plush toys and novelty items.

Established some 15 years ago, Whitehouse Leisure has become recognised as a premier supplier to the amusement industry covering diverse regions such as the UK, Eire and the Middle East.

Commenting on the strategy which will disperse product ranges across three stands according to specific key areas, Business Development Manager Ian Whittingham said the decision was taken in order to assist visitors with optimising their time at the show. “We will actually have three separate stands, one for licensed and generic plush, one displaying redemption prizes and a third for our star products and key licensed products.

"Indeed, our presentation at EAG International Expo will represent the output of an extremely busy year, with some high profile licenses being negotiated,” revealed Ian.

Whitehouse Leisure has acquired an enviable reputation for its understanding of the art and science of plush and novelty items. “Apart from the functional aspects such as durability, visual appeal, size and shape, it’s incredibly important to be tapped into popular culture and to be able to forecast the hot brands for the coming year," said Ian.

"Having secured the right products, we still leave nothing to chance and we supply a wide range of point of sale material to ensure that the items are presented in an appealing way. For example, if you look at a crane, it is effectively a shop window, supplying the inside stickers and external decals along with wrapping, will enhance sales,” he explained.

Whitehouse Leisure’s portfolio for EAG International Expo reveals a veritable ‘who’s who’ of successful toy entertainment brands and while many are new others, are updated treasured classics.

Contemporary incarnations of Disney Pixar’s Nemo will be on display following the studio's release of Finding Nemo 3D and updated, high quality versions of evergreens Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Winnie the Pooh will also feature. Appealing to a wider audience, Stewie, Brian and Peter from Family Guy will be in attendance, along with hecklers Statler and Waldorf, who will be joining their co-stars from the classic Muppets range.

Also premiering is a plush version of the 1998 sensation Furby and, perfect for the crane market, Mr Blobby himself. There has already been much interest in new ranges from the blockbuster Despicable Me 2 by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment following its release on DVD according to Ian.

“EAG International Expo is the most important show in our calendar,” he said. “We attend the event to discuss forecasts with customers and to finalise orders. It’s a very important Expo for us and for many customers, it will deliver the first glimpse of the new season’s products.”

Olympic Guests Fly The Flag For Whitehouse Leisure at EAG International

After a year characterised by several notable successes, Whitehouse Leisure is certainly not resting on its laurels and can now lay claim to a new product range of Olympic proportions.

Certainly no stranger to the international exhibition circuit, this year’s London show will witness a very special and unique event for Whitehouse Leisure as under a master agreement with Golden Bear, the company has secured rights to supply the amusement and leisure sectors with characters based on London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic mascots, Wenlock and Mandeville.

Both mascots will be available in two sizes and for the particularly patriotic, they are joined by a specially sized Wenlock, decked in red, white and blue. A full range of supporting point of sale material for all types of cranes has already been developed.

The Essex based supplier of licensed and novelty goods has already put in place the foundations to ensure that sales growth will continue into 2012 and beyond. Indeed, the company is occupying no less than three separate locations at EAG International 2012 and visitors cannot fail to be impressed by the diversity of product.

Whitehouse Leisure’s Phil Setter gives an insight into what’s new for 2012: “We’ve exhibited at both previous EAG International Expo’s and each year we’re determined to raise the bar.

"A 2011 milestone for Whitehouse Leisure was the award of a licence from Disney for the UK and Irish amusement markets. We’ve already had notable success with Disney in the UK retail sector and we’re delighted to work with this iconic organisation on developing products which meet the specific requirements of our industry. We’re devoting a stand to previewing our entire Disney range, available from April onwards.”

One of Whitehouse Leisure’s outstanding successes in 2011 was the Angry Birds range and Phil Setter has confirmed that colourful new characters will be launched in this popular viral phenomenon.

Also on show will be expanded redemption ranges for the hugely successful SpongeBob and Hello Kitty, plus, in a surprise announcement, Whitehouse Leisure has revealed that Olympic mascots Wenlock and Mandeville have accepted an invitation to appear on the company’s stand during EAG International. For many, this is likely to be the first sighting of these, soon to be, iconic figures and will present a unique photo opportunity!
